PROGRAMS

The three main programs of Ihiala National USA Inc. are all non-profit endeavors and absolutely administered to help the poor, needy and the Afflicted.

 THE FOUR PRINCIPAL PROGRAMS -

1.      EDUCATION
2.      MEDICAL
3.      SECURITY

ALL OUR PROGRAMS ARE ALL EXECUTED THROUGH

These three programs of ours are administered and executed through our three Committees - Education Committee, Medical Committee, and Security Committees. When needed Sub-Committees are formed as task forces and dissolved at the end of the task.

 EDUCATION

EDUCATION: As widely recognized, Education is power. It holds the key to the solution of all our problems. It is a civil right endeavor. It is the greatest long term solution to all the socioeconomic and political issues confronting us today. In the words of a great legislator, Mr. Michael Honda, “the promise education holds for humanity encompasses all the spheres of human life and endeavor, our mere existence, health, economic, political, security and all social aspects of our life depend on education.” Also, Education is the engine that moves the society and opens for humanity new frontiers and vistas of opportunities for the pursuit of happiness. It aids humanity to attain its greatest heights to achieve peace and prosperity.
This means that, if we deny our youth and our people good and appropriate education, both the fundamental, foundation and the continuity of our civilization will be correspondingly compromised. As we can see, the lack of the appropriate and responsible Education is the root cause of the ravages in our Communities.
Furthermore, distilled as character–building, Education is a very potent weapon in fighting crimes of all descriptions— Hence our — SECURITY PROGRAM
Education as information and acquisition of knowledge is a very active means to pursue happiness and address all other socio-economic and even political problems, to attain civilization and to achieve higher standard and quality of life. This is why we need Education in our pursuit of socioeconomic wellness. Through Education we find ways and means in our quest for conquest of diseases - hence - our MEDICAL PROGRAM.
Taking all of the above into perspective, Education is the kin pin, the hub and engine that will crank and propel all our Programs to success. And that is why it is the anchor, the front and center of the existence and operations of Ihiala National USA Inc.

So, when we talk of education, we are basically talking about character building and leadership development, empowering the people through training and retraining in various fields of learning, thus enabling our people to hone in their skills and talents, make them marketable to pursue effectively lucrative careers of their choosing and to shun, desist and refrain from crimes and grafts as means of livelihood.

Helping our people acquire the much needed education is the crux of our goal, because, the present situation about the Education system with the condition of our Schools and Colleges has become a major challenge facing us. The morale of our youths and people in general is very low about pursuit of formal education as a means to win the future. All the Schools both Secondary and Elementary we have in existence now lack most basic resources, necessities and supplies. – ranging from desks, books, computers, chalks, chalkboards, stationeries, sports equipments to water supply, electricity and toilet facilities. The school buildings are all in serious disrepair. The curricula are badly structured if not inadequate. The extra mural activities are suspect and in most cases nonexistent. The teachers and educators are not motivated enough to do their job satisfactorily. This discouraging situation compounded with high tuition fees, high unemployment, attendant poverty and complacent Ministry of Education, has made the pursuit of education a hopeless and a very demoralizing endeavor. As we expressed earlier, failure of education is failure of humanity. This is the challenge we are facing now. That is why INUSA has established Education Program and is appealing to people of like minds to come together and rescue, modernize and to forestall the imminent impending collapse of our education system.
Ihiala National USA wants to change the situation by doing the following:

  1. Undertake repairing and remodeling old and crumbling buildings, upgrade schools by building new and modern ones to accommodate future expansion.
  2. Help our schools with the most basic resources, necessities and supplies. – such as desks, books, computers, chalks, chalkboards, stationeries, sports equipments, water supply, electricity and toilet facilities.
  3. Introduce programs that tend to promote learning, adult education and scholarship to encourage students to stay in school and pursue education.
  4. Introduce programs and activities that are high on discipline, character building, leadership, and life’s strategies, and for training and retraining in various career fields such as vocational trades, liberal arts and sciences, literature, computer science and information technology, health sciences and Criminal Justice.

Our success in these projects will definitely lead to the eventual solution of our security and other socioeconomic problems and to make Ihiala a City of substance.

MEDICAL AND HEALTH SERVICES  PROGRAM

HEALTHCARE SERVICE: As the saying goes, “all babies cry alike.” Healthcare is problem in all third world countries due to poverty and its attendant poor and scarce medical facilities, pharmaceutical products, and of course lack of education. So, our Healthcare problem is not unique. It is commonplace all the developing countries and therefore it is a challenge we, INUSA, are confronted with.
Our Healthcare system as in Education lacks the basic necessities needed in addressing myriads of health concerns starting from medical and health information, medications, supplies and equipments. Our mission here is to help alleviate the problems by taking the following steps:-

  1. Gravitate heavily on health awareness education - starting with basic hygiene, information about symptoms and causes of many common Health conditions, risks, diseases and prevention.
  2. Frequent medical check ups and wellness exercises.
  3. Undertake Regular Medical Mission - screening and treatment and Minor surgeries and hospital referrals.
  4. Help in the supply of pharmaceutical drugs, general medical supplies and related products—diagnostic equipments, books, computers and clean water supply.
  5. Support and help equip our hospitals, clinics and medical aid posts.
  1. Support and sponsor training of health care workers -  Nurses and Nurse Aids and Assistants and Doctors.
  2. Help in repairing and remodeling of hospital and clinics, health centers, buildings and facilities.
  1. Build Hospitals, Labs and Diagnostic facility, Wellness Centers, Clinics, Health Centers and specialty centers such as Dialysis Center.

Presently, we regularly undertake a three day biannual Medical Mission where our Doctors and health workers see an average of 4000 patients and supply them with at least three months worth of medication with hospital follow up. We have also donated and will continue to donate medications and equipment to the local hospitals and clinics.

SECURITY

SECURITY: This is a grave area of concern as Security always is synonymous with peace and progress. Crime is the most potent danger to our lives and properties and is mutating fast, making social and moral decay lucrative grafts. There is a saying no place like home and you cannot call your home a home if it does not provide you a refuge from criminals. No civilized and stable community ever rose to the status of civility by industrializing crime. So, we cannot call our home our home if we are not secure in it. Studies have shown that the best and the most effective ways of fighting crime are through education, character-building, family, religious and spiritual values, and instituting programs that make crimes non-lucrative, and portray them as infra-dig to human dignity and culturally ostracizes criminals as outcasts. We, INUSA cannot afford to wince at crimes, and leave touts, brigands and kidnappers to traverse our community and prey on our people unchallenged.
We want to introduce and support programs and endeavors that will not allow criminals and crimes any respite in Ihiala. Education holds the key.

For security, presently, Ihiala depends on the services of the existing vigilante groups that serve as our COP (citizens on patrol). With the help and supervision of the Police, they are now doing the neighborhood watch in our villages. They need means of mobility and the most basic security gadgets and gizmos. Nevertheless, they are doing wonderful job with their bare stout hearts. For them to continue to do creditable job, we need to equip them with means of mobility, batons, flashlights, walkie-talkies – communication scanners, roadblocks/security gates, gadgets, gizmos and any other civilian crime fighting equipments such as pepper sprays.
Considering that the security system we have now is in all respects a temporary makeshift made up of volunteers, in the long run we need a system that will have some permanence. So by offering incentives to the present volunteers we will attract individuals who would want to make a career of it. The steps we are taking to accomplish this are –

  1. Giving financial and material support to the Local Security institutions - Police and Law enforcement Units and the Neighborhood Patrol Corps popularly called Vigilante who work closely with the State and City Police and Constables.
  2. Supplying them with uniforms, security equipments such as walkie-talkies and communication gadgets, batons, flash lights and all other security gizmos they need and approved by the State.
  3. Will help to sponsor the training and licensing of the vigilante personnel in keeping with the law as required by the State Government.
  4. INUSA has so far donated to the Neighborhood patrol walkie talkies, flashlights and eight motor cycles as means of mobility and plans to up grade to automobiles – vans and jeeps. It has also donated over N 700,000.00 for their other Security gadgets and gizmos.
As Security is one of the four Principal Meridian Programs of Ihiala National USA       (INUSA), we intend to help to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Security Program as described above.
